A Pause…
Dear community,
This one feels tender to write
Beginning April 10th, 2026, I will be stepping into a sabbatical from teaching. During this time, CAYC — in its current iteration — will also take a pause alongside me.
And, fear not, this practice will still go on.
Open Practice and Mysore will continue to be offered by Matthew, and I’m deeply grateful for his steadiness and commitment in holding that container. More specific details about schedule, location and structure will be shared soon via email and in the CAYC Instagram chat.
I want to assure you: I will be back to teach.
At the same time, I’m giving myself an open-ended sabbatical, which means I don’t yet have a set return date. This feels important. For the past almost ten years, I have taught consistently, without a true break. This year marks a decade of holding space, waking up at 3:30am, traveling, studying, teaching, caring, building. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life. And I can feel, in my bones, that it’s time to rest and to remember myself outside of the rhythm of being needed.
During this time, I’ll be sharpening my teaching toolkit through an Ashtanga mentorship and more time learning with my Craniosacral mentor. I’m stepping away from teaching temporarily in order to return with new tools, a refreshed spirit, and deep inspiration for the work we share. I will also be offering private one-on- one Ashtanga sessions during this time and I will continue to see folks for bodywork.
This pause is not a closing. It’s not an ending.
Thank you for practicing with me all these years. Thank you for your trust, your dedication, and the way you continue to show up. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to teach you — and I’m eager to take this time so that when I return, I can be of even better service to this community.
On April 11th, the day after our last class at The Fort, we will have a group meeting- either dinner or a group hang out, tbd- to spend some extra time together and create an intention around our future endeavors as practitioners and community members.
As always, please feel free to email, text or message me with any questions, concerns and comments. I will respond as I am able.
Thanks for being on this ride with me, yall. What a long strange trip.
